Welcome Fans of Wii-kly Review to the next review of another great title that was previously also released on the Playstation1 back in 1997 it is a title that many fans from Namco Bandai have treasured its our little Buddy Klonoa in his first Wii Game Klonoa (also refered to as Klonoa of the Wind: The Door To Phantomile) That was released on May 5, 2009 for the US.

The Characters:

Klonoa a boy from Wind Village who carries a ring bound spirit named Hewpoe. Klonoa lives in Breezegale and was raised by Grandpa, the current village elder. Breezegale’s Gunston Mine was led by Balue, a large man with a love interest for the mythical “songstress” Lephise. Characters outside of Breezegale are the Chieftess Granny, the elder of the Forlock tree village, and King Seadoph, the king of Jugpot who protects the everlasting water supply to Phantomile.

The Story:

The story of Klonoa is introduced with the legend of the land of Phantomile, a mysterious place that is fueled by the very dreams people have at night. As a result, no one can clearly remember the dreams they have had, even if they occurred recently. However, a boy named Klonoa who lives in the town of Breezegale with his grandfather has been having dreams about a mysterious dark airship crashing into a nearby mountain, and can recall every detail of it.

One day, a mysterious ship does indeed crash into the mountain, and Klonoa and his friend, a “ring spirit” named Hewpoe, decide to investigate. After fighting several small, round creatures called Moos, they reach the top of the mountain, only to find two mysterious creatures. They learn that the leader’s name is Ghadius, and his accomplice is a short sinister-looking clown called Joker, and together they are searching for a pendant that holds certain magical properties. They kidnap a girl named Lephise, and after returning to their village, Klonoa and Huepoe decide to chase after them.

The Gameplay:

Klonoa has 2 Different Attacks in the game as well as being able to float for a short time, he can use Hewpoes Power to grab enemies and throw them into other enemies or use his whirlwind attack to cause confusion to his enemys. The Game comes in a variety of differenty controls to use from the classic control to the wii remote wii remote and nunchuck and the Gamecube controller. The Game will run you a good atleast 6 hours depending on how long you usually play the game. there are tons of great cutscenes with every part of the game being overhauled including the graphics which are in full 3D with very colorful water effects in especially the Water Worlds.

Wii-kly Reviews Opinon:

In Wii-kly Reviews Eyes This game has alot of charm great visuals and great gameplay but just not enough to bring it to being perfect. The Gameplay is solid the voice acting is good to a certain extent as for example Hewpoes Voice can get a little annoying at times while playing after hearing Thanks for your help a certain amount of times he can get annoying. Klonoas Voice over for the english additon was great except he doesn’t seem to have many lines at all. except for “I’m Klonoa from Wind Village” or “Come On Lets go”. In My Honest Opinion they could have given the character a few more lines as well as increased the difficulty of the game from being so easy. There are some puzzles in the game but nothing to really blow your mind but other then the very low difficulty level and a little bit of average voice acting the game is solid but just didn’t catch the eyes of consumers enough to strive for a sequel only making around 30,000 copies sold.

Conclusion: Klonoa for Wii was a beautiful remake from the PS1 Version but graphics alone wasn’t enough to bring consumers head over heels for it but other then the diffculty level the game plays extremely well and has alot of decent characters as well as pretty cool boss Battles mixed in. Namco was on the right mark for this game but not giving any advertising for it may have crushed its hopes for seeing a sequel. But all in all its a great game if you can find it new give it a try it will definitly keep you entertained for a few hours. Wii-kly Review Gives this Title a 7.5/10.

This Review is also for a special Admin on NintendoLife.com Corbie. Corbie i hope you enjoyed my review sorry i gave it a 7 but then again it could have been much worse.

I never played the game, however i really enjoyed reading this review. The game seems like a very nice simple to get into game. I guess they aimed it at the younger players. Maybe thats why they didnt make any big new updates to the game. The younger players that never played the original version will like the game as it is i think.
Very nice review.
